The River Village

What to see in Interlaken
Interlaken is a Swiss commune of the canton of Bern, capital of the Administrative District of Interlaken-Oberhahasli. It borders the north with the Ringenberg commune, to the east with Bönigen, to the south with Därlicen and Matten Bei Interlaken, and to the west with Unterseen.
Interlaken is located in the center of Switzerland at the proximity of the Alps. The AAR River crosses the city.

The name of the city comes from its geographical position between the Lagos of Thun and Brienz, this name was adopted in 1891, to replace its old name: Aarmühle. Given the popularity of the place between visitors from Spain and the Latin world, its name in Spanish intertwined also acquired some dissemination in the tourist field.
